Dentures & Partial Dentures

Dentures and Partial Dentures are removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth and the surrounding gum tissue. The goal is for these removable appliances to resemble your natural teeth and enhance your smile.

There are two types of dentures:

Complete Dentures

Complete Dentures are fabricated when all of your natural teeth are missing. A “Conventional Denture” is made 4-6 weeks after all teeth are removed and your gum shutterstock_113853910tissue is completely healed. Unfortunately, during this 4-6 week period, the patient must go without teeth unless they bear the expense of making a temporary denture that is ONLY used during this healing time and NOT covered by insurance. An “Immediate Denture” is made in advance, prior to the extractions. They are placed immediately after the teeth are removed, yet must be adjusted regularly due to the constant healing of gum tissues.

Partial Dentures

Partial Dentures are fabricated when only one or several teeth are missing on the upper or lower arch. They replace the missing teeth and also prevent remaining teeth from shifting.

Dentures and Partial Dentures are durable and will last many years. They will, in fact, need to be replaced, repaired, or re-adjusted due to normal wear and tear or loss.
